Abbey Turner Obituary, A Precious Soul Gone Too Soon Sammy Loco, August 28, 2023 Abbey Turner Obituary, Death Cause – With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we come together to announce the passing of a true Abbey Hill stalwart, Cecil “Ces” Turner. It is with great sadness that we share this news, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Ces’s journey with us was marked by dedication, passion, and a commitment that touched every corner of our rally community. Following a long illness, Ces peacefully left us on Sunday, August 27th, surrounded by his family at home. He was a constant presence, and his contributions were immeasurable. From the very beginnings of our rally, Ces was there, tirelessly working to ensure everything ran smoothly. He undertook countless tasks, from organizing the wooden hut loos to laying water pipes and overseeing the pre-show week main gate staff. His dedication was truly unmatched, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Ces’s love for motorcycles was palpable, and his knowledge of all things motorbike was a precious resource for our rally community. For years, he served as our Motorcycle section steward, and his expertise and guidance were invaluable. Beyond Abbey Hill, Ces’s impact stretched across the South West as he initiated and expanded the blood bike network, starting Yeovil Freewheelers in 1978. His passion for motorcycles was evident in his prized possession, a 1933 James 500 V-Twin. Ces was not just a rider, but a storyteller, always eager to share the history and stories behind his beloved bike. As we gather to remember Ces’s life and legacy, details of his funeral will be made available for those who wish to pay their respects. In this time of reflection, let us honor Ces’s memory by continuing the spirit of dedication and community he exemplified. Ces Turner’s presence enriched our lives and left an indelible mark on our rally family. May his memory inspire us to continue his legacy of passion, commitment, and camaraderie. Obituary
