Born in Barren County, Barbara was the daughter of Island and Bessie Hagan Franklin. Her roots in the community ran deep, and she was a beloved figure among her family and friends. Barbara’s life was a testament to the values of love, compassion, and faith. As a homemaker, Barbara poured her heart and soul into creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her dedication to her role as a mother and a caregiver was evident in the close-knit bond she shared with her three children: Johnny Poteet, Karen Thompson (Emmett Barnett), and Christie Creek (Michael Jewell).
