At around 4:09 in the morning, the Pennsylvania State Police were made aware of an incident that took place near to Exit 14 for motorists heading in the direction of Tarentum. This incident included automobiles traveling in the direction of Tarentum.

It is believed that Dominic Montemurro, who was 28 years old, passed away when the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving veered off the road while he was attempting to take the off-ramp.
