Captain Wittig’s journey with the Rocky Mount Fire Department began on Valentine’s Day in 2002 when she joined as the first Fire and Life Safety Educator. Her passion for educating the community about fire safety was evident from the start, and she quickly became an integral part of the department.

Over the years, Captain Wittig’s hard work and exemplary service led to her well-deserved promotions. She rose to the position of Captain of Administration, where she showcased her exceptional leadership skills. Her ability to inspire and motivate her team was unmatched, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.Earlier this year, Captain Wittig took on the role of Interim  Assistant Fire Chief of Administration, a testament to her dedication and competence. She faced this new challenge with the same determination that had defined her career.
