Among six siblings, Lois developed a strong sense of kinship and community. She was preceded in death by her sisters Pauline (Clayton) Kilpatrick and Mildred (James) Loonsfoote, and her brothers Norman Luesing, Melvin (Mae) Luesing, and Lee (Pat) Luesing. Lois embarked on her educational journey with enthusiasm, attending the one-room East Bliss School for her early grades.
