Bummy’s dedication and service to the Dixfield Fire Company for an astounding 45 years have left an indelible mark on all of us. Bummy’s journey with the Dixfield Fire Company was nothing short of extraordinary. From 1985 to 1992, he held the positions of Lieutenant and later Captain of Hose Company #2, showcasing his exceptional leadership and commitment. Subsequently, from 1995 to 2005, he continued to shine as he took on the roles of Lieutenant and Captain of the Truck Company. Before his time with us, he spent approximately 5 years as a member of the Peru Fire Department, proving his dedication to the firefighting community. His legacy is one of unwavering dedication, selflessness, and genuine care for his fellow firefighters and the community he served. Bummy’s devotion to the safety and well-being of others was unmatched, and his contributions have left an indelible impact that will continue to be felt for generations to come. In honoring his memory, let us remember the countless lives he touched, the bonds he forged, and the enduring impact he had on our firefighting community. To honor his memory and pay tribute to his exceptional life, Montell’s funeral will take place on Monday, September 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dixfield Congregational Church. We invite all who knew and admired Bummy to join us in celebrating his life and legacy during this solemn occasion. Prior to the funeral, there will be a visitation at the Meader & Sons Funeral Home in Rumford on Sunday, September 3rd, with specific times to be announced.
