Naomi Collins Missing Sumter SC, “Rumors” keeping Sumter County Investigators From Finding Naomi Collins Sammy Loco, September 3, 2023 Naomi Collins Missing Sumter SC, Missing – Sergeant Wayne DuBose of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has been looking for Naomi Collins for more than three years at this point. According to what DuBose told WACH FOX News, “the family, at this time, they are really wanting closure.” It will soon be 44 months after she was last seen, and it does not appear that she is still alive or able to communicate with her family. On March 5, 2015, the mother, who was 28 years old at the time, was last seen on Pinewood Road in Sumter County. Deputies were informed by a witness that Collins was getting into a car with a male companion. Although she was known to have a large number of black male and white male pals, the black male in question has not been recognized. According to DuBose’s explanation, “it wasn’t unusual for her to leave with another person.” “Naomi, she has fought a hard struggle against her addiction to drugs. I believe that put her in a precarious situation where something could possibly happen to her. According to the investigation, it was not unusual for Collins to be missing for a period of a couple of weeks to a month at a time. Despite this, she would frequently communicate with her son, either through a phone conversation or one of the several social media platforms. Since the 27th of April, no one has had any contact with her. WACH FOX had a conversation with Alice Priest, who is the grandmother of Naomi’s son Wesley and also his legal guardian. She did not want to go on camera, but she verifies that Naomi always kept in contact with her kid no matter where she was. Naomi would show her support for him by attending all of his football games and cheering him on. Wesley is now 15 years old, and Priest says that he asks constantly about his mother, both where she is and whether or not she will return. Wesley misses his mother very deeply. Priest says that Naomi was like a daughter to her and describes her as someone who was exuberant and loud but who was also very kind. During the course of the conversation, she chuckles and says that Wesley is outspoken exactly like his mother. According to DuBose, the spread of “rumors” is the primary factor that has contributed to the difficulty of solving this case. When you follow one rumor, it leads to another, and then another after that. Since Naomi’s son and Alice could potentially view the content, he wishes to encourage everyone to exercise caution before sharing. Priest believes that Wesley is entitled to explanations. Simply putting an end to this and finding out where she is. “I would like to believe that she is still alive somewhere, but it has been almost 44 months since we last heard from her,” adds DuBose. Priest shared with WACH FOX that whenever she discusses her grandson’s mother with him, they never refer to her in the past tense and express their hope that she would return home one day. Priest wants it to be known to the public that there are a lot of individuals that adore Naomi and miss her a great deal. Obituary
