Originally hailing from Clydebank, Dunbartonshire, he joined the Argylls in 2004, embarking on a journey of service and selflessness that would ultimately lead him to Afghanistan. Private O’Donnell’s commitment to duty was unwavering. He had previously served in Bosnia in 2005 and Kenya in 2006, showcasing his dedication to his country and his comrades.
