Six Dead in Baltimore Beltway Crash, Police Report. EternalTributesOnline, June 27, 2023June 27, 2023 According to Maryland State Police, six people were killed when a car slammed with a work zone on I-695 in Baltimore County on Wednesday afternoon. According to Maryland State Police, Adrienna Lea, 54, of Randallstown, was driving a grey Acura when she attempted to change lanes at 12:40 p.m. According to authorities, the Acura collided with the front corner panel of a Volkswagon that had stopped on the road because it had been disabled while changing lanes. Authorities claim that this prompted Lea to lose control. According to preliminary investigations, the vehicle then drove between temporary barriers, striking several construction workers before overturning. Lea survived and was taken to a local trauma centre, where she was being treated as of Wednesday night, according to investigators. According to authorities, there was no one else in the car at the time of the event. State police identified Malachi Brown, 20, of Windsor Mill, as the driver of the VW. He did not disclose any injuries, according to authorities. The Maryland State Police Crash Unit is investigating the crash. The identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin. The Maryland Department of Transportation advises vehicles to avoid the area since multiple lanes on I-695 before Exit 17 remain closed. “I’m praying for the family,” Bridget Brown, whose son was driving when the accident occurred, told CBS Baltimore. “My son was only a couple of cars away. My son may have been the unfortunate victim. “I’m just relieved it’s not him.” Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski offered his condolences to the victims of the tragic event. “On behalf of all Baltimore County citizens, we express our heartfelt sympathies to the families, friends, and loved ones of those who died in today’s awful collision, and my prayers are with those injured in this horrific occurrence,” he said.
