Wes Smith Obituary, Death – The tragic death of Wes Smith, a student at Texas Christian University (TCU), affected the Mayor of Fort Worth on a personal level since he was able to relate to the victim in some way. On Friday, Mayor Mattie Parker referred to Smith as “a remarkable young man” in her conversation with Smith. Smith was a third-year student at the institution and majored in business administration. In the district known as West 7th, an assailant who has not been identified shot and killed him.

Smith was murdered in the general area when he was assassinated. While her son played for the football team that Smith coached as the head coach, Smith’s mother served as an assistant coach for the squad. It was early today morning when Wes Smith was shot and killed in what appears to have been a senseless act of violence, according to a statement that was read out loud by Parker from a screenplay that had been written in advance. Smith was shot many times, which ultimately led to his passing away.

Wes was a student at TCU and a fantastic young man who influenced the lives of a great number of other people, including my own son, as a consequence of the position that he held as a football coach for the middle school team on which my son played. As a result of this, Wes had an impact on the lives of countless other persons, including my own son. A wonderful young man who had a promising future was taken away from us not too long ago. Our family is grieving and praying for the whole TCU community, but we are concentrating our prayers especially on Wes’ family and friends. We are saddened by the loss of Wes and we pray for the community at TCU. We are truly sorry for the loss that has been inflicted upon you.
