His age was given as 77. Funeral services for Willie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at The Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church in Branch. Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church’s pastor, Kevin Colson, will officiate the funeral. Willie will be laid to rest in the tranquil grounds of the Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Branch once the ceremony concludes. Willie’s friends and family have kindly set up viewing times so that everyone who wishes to pay their respects can do so. On Saturday, February 28, 2015, calling hours will begin at 2:00 pm and continue until 9:00 pm. It will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and last until the funeral services begin. Willie Glenn Windham is survived by his loving wife of Branch, Brenda D. Windham, who was by his side through thick and thin. Rene’ and David Mire of Lafayette, and Reba and Brian Crochet of Lafayette, are his daughters who will carry on his legacy of love. He loved his stepchildren, Sarah and Larry Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Anjanette and Greg Hebert of Branch, and Scott and Peyton Richard of Duncan, South Carolina, just as much as his own children. Willie’s eight grandkids, Taylor and Blake Harper, Austin and Gavin Mire, Daniel Crochet, Andre’ and Denae’ Hebert, and Abigail Thibodeaux, are another priceless inheritance he leaves behind. Jean Grafton of Broussard, his sister, also survives. The Windhams appreciate the outpouring of love and sympathy from friends, family, and the community during this difficult time.
